Just tuned off from the Xbox reveal-event and it is MYSTIFYING how much unneeded garbage they've showed into that thing. I have been mostly a console gamer for my life because consoles gave me an opportunity to get away from all that bullshit and nonsense that apparenly is now the highlight of the new system. Life must be pretty fucking hard for the people at Microsoft if CHANGING A TV-CHANNEL HAS BEEN SUCH A MAJOR INCONVENIENCE up this point, that they actually had to spend millions of dollars to come up with a solution for a propblem that none else on the planet ever had.
Luckily the old systems still have a lot of games that I haven't played yet, and I'm getting a new PC at some point. Although earlier this day Steam popped up, signed me in (eventhough I haven't saved the password) and informed me that I for some reason, can no longer play Black Mesa until I update something... reminds me of why I've been slipping out of the PC-gaming in the past few years.
Gaming has so much potential and so much to offer. It is the ultimate medium for entertainment and storytelling and we've only scratched the surface of the wonderful things we can experience through videogames... Why are you fucking this up now?!
Although I have to be fair, this show was mainly to demonstrate the capabilities of the new xbox and I might be grosely overreacting. With E3 around the corner, there might be some really good games coming up. Plus most developers are smart enough to not use the motion systems and other gimmicks, or they'll do something completely unsignificant with them to please the dumb-asses at the board. Like the moshing/thrusting pelvises in Little Big Planet, which has been the only good way motion controls have ever been implemented.
