Let's do Doom pt:6,01 Baron of Hell by Mechanubis Let's do Doom pt:6,01 Baron of Hell by Mechanubis
A faithful watcher kilr3 appeared to me and declared that my Baron of Hell needeth some plasma on his hands. And I was like: "Right away master, please don't hurt me! Don't put me back into the trunk! I shall fix the image" and then he was like: "Very well. I shall give you this ONE chance, although you do not deserve it". Now he'll hopefully give me another bucket of fish entrails so I can feed :3

So here is the Baron himself. Again. Very much like the Hellknight, but I don't wanna try fix something that isn't broken.

I definitely love your version of the Hellknight because it's new and intimidating while keeping a look resembling the classic enough to be identifiable as what it is.  That's the problem I had with them in Doom 3, you couldn't just look at them and say, "that's a Hellknight".

now THAT is a Hell Baron...what always frustrated me in Doom was how you couldn't tell the difference very easily i'm like...is that a Hell Baron or a Hell Knight? Hell Barons shoulbe taller with horns at the side (like this picture) and Hell Knights should look like the ones we saw in Doom 3 IMO

Right on. I'll propably make my version of Hellknight a little more "nimble" looking. Thanks brother.

Wow i really like this. Barons of Hell have always been my favourite demon in the Doom games, esp the roar they make when they spot you. So was a little sad when they werent included in Doom 3, I love Doom 3 i just miss the Bruiser Brothers from Knee Deep in the Dead. Right i am of to play Brutal Doom and face the Barons again.

Fanstastic work, Love all of your Doom paintings.

Lets hope the Baron makes a return in DOOM 4 if its still being made.

Thank you very much. Barons are a lot of fun to fight, especially since they have a habit of lurking right behind doors and whatnot. Love that sense of panic when a group of these bastards teleport right next to you in a closed enviroment. Luckily the double barreled shotgun is once again the anwser to your problems.

The only part that Doom 3 broke was the lack of horns. You fixed that nicely.

I was confused in Doom 3 a lot...couldn't tell which were Hell Knights n which were Barons...I presume the only Barons were the two u faced in that boss battle at the portal. Barons should have horns n be taller, knights shouldn't...that way we can tell them apart...there is no point trying to compare them to those goats in th original, they totally remade them in that sense

I liked the lack of horns ('-'*) I think it would make perfect sense of making the Baron bigger and letting him have the horns. Guess it could be cool if the Hellknight would have only stumps of horns, as if at some age all the hellknights would have to fight eachother, and the winners would tear off the horns from the loosers to ashame them and then grow into Barons, getting all the action with the ladies. Like sealions.

change there opinion.

Haha. True enough. However, I don't think people these days care to bother about excessive gore. I mean it's everywhere.

Yay, my favourite! :iconchuuplz:
He already looked mighty awesome in the previous artwork, and here he's just complete. :3 I find it interesting how you changed the feet... kind of fit together with the Mancubus' and Pinky's feet. Also: yay for the return of the chin spikes! XD
I was a little disappointed with the Doom 3 design of the Hell Knight/Baron, because it missed so many aspects that identified it in the original games. You've brought all of them back and given them new flesh (almost literally) and texture.

One last thing: LOVE. THE. HORNS. X3

People did seem to miss the horns. I honestly loved the design in Doom 3. Maybe it was a little more subtle? Which I find weird because I'm really not a friend of subtle, or "toned-down". I know, I have the mindset of a twelve year old.

I'll propably do a new version of both Hellknight and Baron of Hell at some point. I want to make them to be different in more ways than just the horns and the chinspikes, but still be of same breed. Kind of like males and females in animals.

The Doom 3 design was certainly a lot scarier, but I didn't feel like it reminded me of the old guys. XD
Haha, over exaggeration and obviousness can have its charms when used properly...and in moderation. Subtlety sometimes has the drawback of disappearing rather than coming forward in an interesting way.

I always felt the Knight and Baron were the same creature, except one was (like you said) 'bred' differently... which caused further growth and discoloration? Dunno. XD

Subtlety has it's place in the world. I'm just not convinced it's at the heart of a fast-paced alien/demon murder-thon :P

And on that I shall give the Mechanubis enough fish entrails and gore to feed his his entire kind for a millennium to come. The master is very much pleased with the artist's efforts XD

Thank you master *bows* My grattitude knows no boundaries. My wretched kind shall carve a statue out of hardened gouda-cheese blocks in your honor at the subterranian world in which we dwell.

Amazing artwork right there! I like the way you painted Baron and gave him a really nice pose, filled with rage.
Keep on making art! You are a talented person. :aww:

Kiitos paljon kauniista sanoista ja faveista sekä stalkkauksesta ^-^ Poseeraukset on jotain semmosta mihin pitäis kiinnittää vielä enemmän huomiota, ei vaan usein jostain syystä uskalla kokeilla mitään rajumpaa :/

Hienoja töitä sullakin. Rispektiä o/

Tajusin vasta kommentin lähetettyä että olet suomalainen! Mahtavaa tavata toisia suomalaisia DOOM-faneja! o/
Ja tiedän tuon tunteen poseerauksien suhteen. Perkele että anatomia osaa olla välillä vaikeaa. :/

Kiitos paljon. En jatka samaan tyyliin, yritän parantaa ^-^
